Tivaevae Patterns

Hi my name Tayzsar and I am 9 years old and I go to Waikowhai Primary School. In class we have been doing Tivaevae. Tivaevae patterns come from the Cook Islands. We did it for Cook Island language week. TIvaevae patterns aren't easy to make because you have to try and copy the picture on your Chromebook. Then you have to cut the paper into the pattern you drew and stick it on a colored piece of paper. I like drawing patterns and I had so much fun. Here are some pictures.

See you next time bloggers.

rotating

Rotating my pattern

HI my name is Tayzsar and for today I am going to be writing about rotating pattern art for math. I did a flower and that is cool and after you have finished you get to colour it in and add some patterns and shapes. You should see my one is pretty cool and you should give it a try at your school!  The shape that I did was a circle with a triangle and you draw the shape that you want. After you have drawn it you rotate it around 90 degrees and around again 180 degrees then like this and you get my flower shape. My favourite part of this picture is doing the patterns and the colours. We did this for maths because we are learning about rotation, reflecting and translating.
Thank you for looking at my blog!

Reading Marae visit

Hi my name is Tayzsar and I am 9 years old and for Reading this week I had to do a reading activity from our choice board. It was hard because we had to guess what the Maori word means in English from the book called Marae visit. The easy thing was that the Maori dictionary helped me because I don't know how to speak Maori so I just used it and it turned out to work pretty well. It was easy and it was also fun because the bell rang and I started rushing and when I finally finished I got to go outside to play soccer with all of my friends. This week reading was easy as the Moari dictionary helped me. In reading I also learned that marae visit was my favourite activity because it was interesting to learn about and it was easyas it was just using the Maori dictionary .

Creative writing

Hi my name is Tayzsar and I go to Waikowhai Primary School and this week I started a creative writing piece which is about  a whale and a little girl with a wolf that was made out of stars. I choose that picture because it has lots of information and it has lots of stars and it looks cool. It was also fun doing it too. Click on this link to see it. Have a look at my story and leave a comment for some feedback! Thanks for coming! Blog ya later.
